I bought this for a trip where i needed to fit 2 weeks worth bunch of sweaters and winter coats in a carry on. It was a life saver that the vaccum was USB so i could plug it into my iphone wall plug, less to bring. The noise from the vaccum isn&#;t too obnoxious, probably the same level as a handheld fan. I think for the clothing i packed - sweaters and thick coats, it definitely takes awhile to suction the air out, but no more than a 2-3 minutes.
Unfortunately the bags are pretty cheaply made and half of mine don&#;t hold suction anymore deeming them unusable. This is probably from a small hole somewhere in the bag. The plastic isn&#;t super thick so i assume just from having to rustle the bag around to fit clothes in there could have caused the air leakage. It&#;s too bad the vaccum bags dont last longer than 1 use, but i guess that&#;s the trade off for such a low pricepoint. You also have to buy these specific bag to fit the vaccum so seems like you&#;d run into this issue even if you bought new bags.
All in all, if you need it for one trip, i&#;d recommend.
