PET and PETG - Bottles and Containers

PET and PETG

For more information, please visit petg media bottles.

PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and PETG (polyethylene terephthalate copolyester) NALGENE square media bottles are specifically designed for packaging and shipping liquid medias, buffers and sera. These heavy-walled, durable, square bottles save space, are shatter-resistant and provide excellent gas barrier properties. These sterile, non-pyrogenic bottles save you time from costly cleaning preps that are necessary with similar glass products.

PETG media bottles meet current biological and pharmaceutical regulatory standards such as: USP Class VI, non-cytotoxic, non-pyrogenic, USP , European Pharmacopeia for Abnormal toxicity (modified), and are made from ADCF (Animal Derived Component Free) materials. PETG media bottles are suitable for air shipment and are tested during each manufacturing run to ensure leakproof performance. Gamma irradiated to 10-6 Sterility Assurance Level (SAL).

NALGENE PETG Crimp Finish Sterile Vials meet USP VI, are non-cytotoxic and non-pyrogenic. Sterile to 10-6 SAL. Stoppers and caps not included. Packaged in trayless shrink-wrapped modules.

Nalgene PET and PETG square media bottles

Nalgene Square PET and PETG Media Bottles are the ideal media, sera, buffer, reagent storage, and shipping containers in today’s pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and biotech markets. These durable and lightweight, shatter-resistant polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and heavy-walled, break-resistant glycol modified (PETG) bottles are compatible with high density polyethylene (HDPE) closures creating a leakproof seal across the three compatible closure types; standard screw cap closures, tamper evident closures, and septum closures. The unique Nalgene bottle and closure design requires no liner or gasket to provide repeatable leakproof performance and provides an effective oxygen and carbon dioxide barrier to maintain the appropriate pH of your reagent. These bottles allow you to scale up from research to production, while offering packaging options for lab use or manual and automated filling lines.

Nalgene media bottles are designed and manufactured to meet the stringent requirements of our safe and leakproof guaranteed containers and are made from only high-quality DMF submitted virgin resins that comply with a number of regulatory specifications including: USP Class VI, USP <661>, and ISO 10993-3. Products are non-cytotoxic, non-pyrogenic, non-mutagenic, and are made with animal derived component free (ADCF)‡ materials to help ensure content purity. For regulatory claims and certifications applicable to specific Nalgene bottles, please contact     Nalgene Regulatory Support.

Chemicals can affect the strength, flexibility, surface appearance, color, dimensions or weight of plastics so you should carefully choose the appropriate material for your specific use. In general, PET resins are more resistant to dilute acids, aliphatic alcohols, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and dry salts in comparison to PETG, while PETG resins are more resistant to detergents and surfactants. For chemical compatibility ratings by specific chemical and application, consult the
    Chemical Compatibility Guide.
