Tutorial : How to Make Your Own Notepads

This post may contain Amazon or other affiliate links. If you purchase something through the link, I may receive a small commission at no extra charge to you.

Do you love keeping to do lists, grocery lists, and shopping lists like I do?  While I can't resist a new notepad from Target's Dollar Spot, I do have certain notepads that I want setup a certain way.  For my grocery list, I like to break it down by the aisles in my local store.  This makes my shopping trips so much more efficient.   Rather than keeping up with a bunch of loose printouts, I like to bind a bunch of lists together to make a notepad that I can stick in my purse or keep alongside my planner.

Here's a step by step tutorial to get you started creating your own notepads!  You can download my grocery list printable and shopping list printable in my shop.

Supplies Needed:

For more information, please visit Heao Printing.

    • Printable file such as my grocery list or shopping list printables
    • Printer (any home printer will do)
    • Printer Paper
    • Book Compound
    • Chipboard or cardboard to use as a sturdy backing
    • Clips (such as clothes pins or binder clips)
    • Paint brush
    • Paper Cutter (optional but this is one of my favorite tools in my craft space!)

Step 1:  Print your notepad pages and cut them to size.  This tutorial uses these 2 printable lists.   I print on regular printer paper, but you could use heavier quality paper too!

Step 2: Cut a piece of cardboard or backing page to the same size.

Step 3: Align all of your page with the backing page last and clip them together.

Step 4: Brush on Pad Book Compound (found on Amazon).

Step 5: Add extra clips along top to keep the pages together while drying.  This compound dries pretty fast but I try to leave mine overnight before using.

Step 6:  Remove your clips and your notepad is ready to use!

Custom notepads make great DIY gifts for your teachers, co-workers and friends. I have made custom notepads for our teachers &#; each personalized with their names.  The possibilities are endless &#; you can customize this to use anything you can print!  You can bind notepads with photos or bind notepads with a different design on every page!  Happy Crafting!
